Episode 26: Greyhounds in the City

Discover why greyhounds can be perfect city dogs.

Former racing greyhounds surprise us in many ways. Many people who live in apartments and cities are often astonished to learn that greyhounds not only make great apartment dogs, but can also thrive in city environments.

In this episode, we have a conversation with two greyhound adopters, Al Chimenti and Jenny Quin. They both live in New York City; specifically, Manhattan. It doesn’t get more hustle-and-bustle, noisy, and busy than the proverbial “city that never sleeps.” They share their stories and insights about what it’s like for them and their greyhounds in the Big Apple. They’ll also reveal why they wouldn’t have adopted any other breed of dog for their metropolitan lifestyles.

We’re not too proud to beg. Consider giving us 5 starts in iTunes. It’s not that we think so highly of ourselves. But when we get 5 stars, we move up higher in the podcast charts and, therefore, exposed to more greyhound lovers and those considering adopting a greyhound.

Episode 24: Hooked on Hookworms!

You can’t see them, but they can harm your greyhound.

OK, so not the best episode title. Hookworms, while they can’t be seen with the naked eye, are gross. Over time, they can also cause serious health issues when left untreated. In this episode, we sit down with Patty Comerford to find out what they are, why newly retired racing greyhounds may be infected, and how to have them diagnosed, treated, and (hopefully) avoided in the future.
