Draft of Washington’s Note to Howe

Draft of Washington’s Note to Howe

This draft, written by the hand of General George Washington’s Aid de Camp, Alexander Hamilton, was penned for British General Howe. Washington sent the final draft, along with Howe’s dog, to Howe after the dog was found by American soldiers as he was running about the battlefield.
